I just got MS Office 2003 - initial installation was a breeze: fast and problem free. But after that it asked me to check for updates and register. When checking for updates I was presented with patches for office XP (my old version that I just replaced!) and when I tried to register, I was sent to a web-page that said
RegistrationNot a good first impression...The Wizard you are trying to access is no longer available
Please be sure to remove any bookmarks you have to this location on microsoft.com to avoid the error in the future.
I had the same problem when I ran the install for InfoPath 2003. It looks like it has something to do with their web site and URL redirection. BTW, I was still able to register but it doesn't inspire any confidence that Microsoft does any quality control what so ever nor that their products are better secured...
Posted by Andrew Houghton at October 23, 2003 9:04 AMOffice 2000 still enough. I have office 2003 installed and its bloat-ware. I thought maybe I'd like outlook but I'm back using OE.
