BlogThisUrl SharpReader plugin

I created a sample plugin that will open a URL in an external browser using the information that is passed to the plugin. It comes with a template that posts to Movable Type (based on the MT bookmarklet).

The template-file contains a URL with special <$XPATH$> tags that will be replaced with the appropriate contents. You will need to edit the template to point to your own weblog URL prior to use. Extract the zip into a plugins sub-directory to have SharpReader discover and use it.

I have included the source-code, in case somebody wants to use it as a sample to create a more powerful plugin.

You can download the plugin here.

Works beautifully for me, except when it doesn't. I haven't seen a pattern among the entries where it doesn't work, but various ones (not every entry in one feed) including your two entries before this one give me this uncopyable error message. But when it's good, it's very very good.

I'm having the same problem as Clint: "Blog This" causes my Mozilla 1.3 to try to navigate to the URL "1".

Same problem as Clint and Brad for me, though I tried it before I edited the template file, and it worked (resolving to www.your-web-site.com)!

I also saw the same problem as Phil the first time I hit ^B after installation, but I can't replicate it now.

Suggestion: there should be some sort of configuration file so you can have multiple plugins, configure the hothey for them, etc.

Don has a good suggestion up at http://www.gotdotnet.com/team/dbox/default.aspx?key=2003-04-14T07:59:16Z

on how to set this up.

The BlogthisURL plugin doesn't work with mozilla 1.3, but it works with IE 6.

I would rather use Mozilla, will, can this be fixed?

Thanks,jb
